The 4 engined Lancaster was the mainstay of RAF Bomber Command. Some people believe that only USAAF aircraft had Nose art. In reality a large number of Lancaster Bombers had some form of Nose Art.
To date we have made a series of 15 Lancaster panels and are working on further panels.
Further details on the panels can be found by clicking on the buttons to the right.

The panels are 70 cm long x 50 cm high. They are made from 5 separate pieces of aluminium sheet. The detail of the panel follows the panels between formers B and G. To make the panel a reasonable shape - the panel only goes below the bomb bay roof.
The detailing includes the bomb bay roof/cabin floor reinforcement as well as aerial and static piton covers. Each panel has ca. 100 dome head aluminium rivets - each added by hand.
The artwork is based upon original drawings and photographs that is extensively researched and matched. The artwork is hand painted onto the panel along with stenciling of Logos, designations etc. The rear of the panel is painted cockpit grey/green.
SMALL PANELS
As not all aircraft Nose art fills the whole area that we have on our larger panels - we have also prepared these smaller panels.
They are the same panels that are used at the front of the Large panels - with riveting , D-rings and painted rear.
